    Landon {Valley Forge Spring Mini-Session}

    April 14th, 2013

Today was the perfect day for Spring Mini-Sessions at Valley Forge National Park! The sun was shining, the sky was so blue, and the dogwoods were blooming!

I was so excited when Landon’s mom told me that we would be taking his First Holy Communion pictures. It was the perfect location and he was the perfect model. I loved how his little sister, Maddie, kept telling him that he looked handsome! Handsome, indeed.

    Sandy Treasures Art Auction

    March 8th, 2013

Remember that canvas I shared with you during my photo display post? How would you like to own that canvasIt could be yours!

Back in October, Hurricane Sandy did a horrible amount of damage to the Jersey Shore.

There has been many efforts by locals to help connect people in need with those willing to give through an amazing Facebook page called Hurricane Sandy Support Page- South Jersey.  Well here we are in March and people are still in need of help! A friend of mine, Cindy of Whatever Works, came up with a great idea while painting shells with her daughter one day. Her idea?

    Sandy Treasures Art Auction

The Sandy Treasures Art Auction is all about local artists using elements from the Jersey Shore to make beautiful pieces of art to be auctioned off in an online auction. 100% of all proceeds will be going directly to Waves for Water’s Hurricane Sandy Relief Initiative.   They have done wonderful work  in our local communities!

I was so honored when Cindy asked me to donate one of my photographs to the auction. My “Barnegat Lighthouse at Sunset” photograph is the main picture on the Hurricane Sandy Support Page and has been seen as an image of inspiration and hope.

As I looked through more images from our LBI vacation last year, I found another image that I thought would be perfect as well. It’s simple. Just a pile of shells that my boys collected on the beach one day. Those shells provided hours of entertainment and were one of their favorite things to do last summer.

I knew I wanted these images to be big and beautiful. I asked my friends over at Picaboo to help me out! They donated for the auction {2} 16×20 canvases. And let me tell you? They are gorgeous  These images do not even do them justice!

The auction is tentatively scheduled to start April 1, 2013. All opening bids will start at only $15! That means you could possibly end up with a beautiful new piece of art {like my canvases above} for your home that not only has sentimental value, but won’t break your bank!

Make sure you check the Sandy Treasures Art Auction website for more information.

    Displaying My Photos

    March 5th, 2013

People always assume that 1) I have a ton of pictures of my own children and 2) that they are all displayed wonderfully throughout my home.

    They would be wrong!

My children suffer from the COP syndrome: child of a photographer. They see that camera and they go running! Or they refuse to look at the camera. Or scream and throw a fit. Or all of the above.

However, I do manage to get some decent and frame-worthy images a few times of year. My pictures usually end up just sitting on the computer. I just lack the creativity in displaying them. But we do have some floating around the house!

This small canvas is on a shelf over my desk. I love that when I am busy or stuck on something, I can look up at this. This is my all time favorite picture of the boys together.

When you walk into my kitchen, this picture is there to greet you. I update this picture whenever I can {which reminds I really need to do that ASAP!}.

I love this frame because I can display multiple pictures of the boys. I usually update this every year after taking our holiday pictures. It’s at the bottom of our steps and you can see it from the living room. Love seeing those smiling faces when I walk up to bed every night.

I put this frame together two years ago and I really need to update these pictures! It’s a combination of family pictures and word art. The letters represent our first names.

And finally, the big project I am working on! I love canvases and need to display more of them in my house. I am waiting to get a large canvas of the boys when they are older and not changing so much. I want something that can stay up for a while. In the meantime, I am working on a 4 seasons project. The below canvas is a 16×20 of a the Barnegat Lighthouse in LBI. I took this while on vacation last year and I absolutely love it. This will hang for summer. I am working on adding the other 3 seasons soon!

    Emma

    January 20th, 2013

I couldn’t think of a better way to start off the New Year than with a newborn session! I have been waiting on little Miss Emma’s arrival since I did her mom’s maternity photos in November. She was worth the wait!

One of the photos I was so excited to take that day was a recreation of one of her maternity pictures. I love how it came out!
